How to Use a Floor Lamp in Every Room Around Your Home

Floor lamps are great for so many reasons. Both versatile and practical, these lighting fixtures can literally be used in all the rooms throughout your home – it just depends on their placement!

    Living and common rooms

For example, try placing a couple modern floor lamps beside your sofa or near a chair to add some layers of lighting to the room. This will bring warmth to your space, making it a great way to offer a space for relaxation and socializing.

If you’re a big reader, adding a floor lamp with an adjustable arm to your nook will make you never want to leave. Add a cosy throw blanket to your favourite chair and voila! The rest is book-heaven history.

    Bedrooms

As for the boudoir, a floor lamp can serve as an alternative to traditional bedside table lamps. Not only can it free up space on your nightstand – or even eliminate the need for one to begin with – it is the perfect way to set the tone for the evening. Cue soft, ambient light for reading or winding down.

And whether you’ve got a walk-in closet or a single wardrobe, placing a floor lamp near your closet or dressing area will help to add the proper lighting when choosing your outfit for the day. Say hello to cute clothes and bye-bye to outfit regret.

    Entryways, hallways, and sunrooms

Try placing a floor lamp near your entrance to create a welcoming glow for you and others coming in from the cold. You can take advantage of this placement to serve it as a fashion statement, making a great first impression as guests enter into your home through the entrance and hallway.

As for the sunroom, try positioning a floor lamp near your indoor plants to ensure they receive enough light during the darker months. This is especially useful in rooms with limited natural light.
