Individuals who wish to pursue education or employment abroad must opt for IELTS. It is an English proficiency test that assesses the ability of candidates to communicate effectively. It is accepted by 11,000 organisations worldwide and recognised by countries like the U.S., UK, New Zealand, Australia and Canada. It evaluates four essential skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. There are primarily two types of IELTS: Academic and General Training. However, candidates must choose it based on their purpose of moving abroad.

Candidates must register for the IELTS exam beforehand. Once they register, they will receive exam dates, and they must choose according to the university intakes. Besides, this will help them prepare for IELTS accordingly. Underlined below is the process for registering for the test and the IELTS exam fees.

    How to Register for IELTS?

Candidates must follow the below-mentioned steps to register for IELTS:

    Option 1

Step 1: Visit the official website of IELTS

Step 2: Navigate to ‘Book Test’ Tab

Step 3: Select your test date and preferred location

Step 4: Once the process mentioned above is complete, candidates must pay either by debit or credit card.

The IDP branch must input the candidate’s application number in the IELTS registration form.

Step 3: Hand over the photocopy of your passport

Step 4: Sign the Terms & Conditions

Step 2: Sign the duly terms & conditions and attach a copy of your passport.

Step 3: Attach the demand draft that mentions the test fees and courier it to the IDP office.

What is the IELTS Exam Fee?

Computer-delivered IELTS is available three times a day and seven days a week, whereas paper-based tests are available four days a month. There are 75 test centres, and candidates can choose at their convenience. Furthermore, the IELTS exam fees are as follows:

Cost in INR Type of IELTS

Crucial Things to Keep in Mind While Making IELTS Fee Payment

Students must consider the below-mentioned pointers while registering for the IELTS exam.

First and foremost, candidates must be above 16 years. They would have to sign the ‘Form of Consent’ to appear for the IELTS. Secondly, the information provided in the registration form must match with the information in the candidate’s passport. Thirdly, they must keep the debit or credit cards handy while registering for the exam.

In addition, candidates’ identities will be verified at the exam centre and during registration. They must remove their face masks while their photograph is taken, and anyone who refuses will not be allowed to take the test.

Furthermore, they will also not be entitled to any refund. The signature and photograph will appear in the Test Report Form.

However, candidates can reschedule their IELTS exam, although they will be charged a cancellation fee. Otherwise, a complete test fee will be charged if one cancels it within five days of the exam.

Candidates will be allowed to transfer their registration fee to display medical evidence for it. They must also fill ‘Request for Postponement or Cancellation’ when one has to apply for either of those. After completing this process, they must send it via courier or post to the address provided.

    IELTS Test Results

Generally, candidates receive the test results after 13 days from when they appeared for paper-based IELTS. On the other hand, test results come 3-5 days after candidates give their computer-delivered IELTS.

One will receive a singular copy of the Test Report Form containing one’s name. However, one may not receive the form altogether if IELTS Partners feel that there may be any problem administering this test. One then has to provide writing and speaking sections. One might have to retake one or more IELTS sections in such exceptional cases.

Hence, candidates must follow the aforementioned guidelines while paying IELTS test fees. They must adhere to the steps of registration and make payment accordingly.
