Everyone knows that social distancing and wearing a mask will lower their risk of contracting the corona virus. However, have you thought much about your hands? Hands are a key distributor of germs, and protecting them has emerged as a key way to combat the virus. Adam Karapetyan, CEO of Wholesale Nitrile Gloves, created his company to satisfy the demand for nitrile gloves in 2021.
Most people have heard of latex, a common material used to make gloves, but fewer know of nitrile. Like any other material derived from rubber, nitrile comes from rubber trees and ultimately becomes a strong chemical through manufacturing. For nearly two decades, workers in many professions have relied on nitrile gloves to do their jobs safely.
Demand is one thing. Is there any scientific evidence that backs up the effectiveness of these gloves? Yes. Several studies have shown that out of vinyl, latex, and nitrile, nitrile rates at the top for safety: in one study, vinyl gloves failed 12-61% of the time while latex’s failure rate was 0-4% and nitrile’s was 1-3%.
The reasons for the growing sales of nitrile gloves are compelling. First, it is chemical resistant, protecting the hands even when harsh chemicals are used. While many materials used in glove are uncomfortable, nitrile is not. Its softness and cleanliness appeal to many people. It’s also very tough and resists punctures. Maybe most importantly, it does not cause an allergic reaction because it is free of latex.
Manufacturers have continued to improve nitrile, leading to multiple advantages noted in the media. They are as cheap as latex gloves, and they are comfortable even when worn for long periods of time. Their design means that the wearer is able to easily grasp objects, and perhaps best of all, the hands do not sweat.
“As with anything, when the benefits of these gloves increased and the pandemic hit, the demand for them led to their price going up and their availability going down,” Adam states. He saw a chance to jump into the market and help people by supplying the gloves, so he started his company, Wholesale Nitrile Gloves, to fill the demand.
“Throughout the pandemic, personal protective equipment or PPP has been a growing need. After researching nitrile gloves and discovering they are a high-quality alternative to latex, I acquired and distributed high-quality personal protective equipment and started offering it. The demand has really taken off. With my multi-state distribution network, I help my customers get gloves.”
Over the past year, Adam has leveraged his company to offer personal protective wear that is of a high quality and reasonably priced.
“I value the number of lives my company has impacted. I know that by offering these gloves, people will be safer at their workplaces or in their homes. Gloves are not the only defense a person needs in this pandemic, but even so, they are an important part of combatting the pandemic.”
